After having heard and read about the doctrine of Trinity from the time that I could understand, I can very matter-of-factly say on the onset that it is probably THE most absurd doctrine that is taught. (The Roman Catholic effect is clear and understandable)! So, let me start off by ‘knocking down’ the term “Trinity” (this is going to psych you out!). According to the Trinity doctrine there are three persons in the Godhead and all three are one. But, how can anyone prove from the Bible that there are ONLY three persons in the Godhead? (Ha, ha, ha!! You read it right)! What if God has only revealed three and based on Deut 29:29, there are more?
How then can the term “Trinity” hold water? I mean…, How can a duet have three performers? How can a millionaire be called a billionaire? How can a four-wheeler be called a three-wheeler…? So without your unkind permission, I hereby shred the term “Trinity” into three equal pieces and burn it till the ‘white smoke’ disappears into the white clouds!!! PRAISE BE TO GOD!!
Now lets clean up the ashes…
Are the three revealed personalities ONE? THE UNITY IN DIVERSITY OF THE TRINITY, they say, is something so complex that we cannot comprehend it. I remember when I was in school, whenever there was a free time, the main topic of discussion amoungst us (sp after the weekends) would be the latest film. Most often, before anyone starts to narrate the story they would ask everyone present, “Have you seen this film?” And if the answer is “No”, then the “story-teller” ends up telling a new and improved, logic-defying version of the story! When it becomes unbearably unbelievable (!), some would start to protest. But, since no one has seen the film the story-teller boldly holds his ground with “mother promises” and “god promises”…! SO IS THE DOCTRINE OF TRINITY. SINCE NO ONE CAN COMPREHEND IT, LOGIC CAN BE DEFIED TO ANY EXTENT!!
It is said that the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit (HS), are three different personalities with three different responsibilities… Then how in heaven are they one? It is like taking a glass of water and claiming that it is liquid, gas and solid all at the same time! If you say the oneness is in the office of Godship more than in the personalities, then it is like three different managers sharing the same office room. But since the essence of an individual is his personality, it is more rationale to say that God has multiple personalities, than to say that three different individuals together make one person, which is not just irrational, but… (I can hear you say, “See, we told you its complex”)! By acting so stupid, we are humiliating our maker! Father, forgive them for they forget who made them and how?!! If we claim that what is revealed is for our conception then it shouldn’t be beyond our comprehension. And if it was not meant for our conception, then it shouldn’t be an issue… EITHER WAY!!!
If all three persons in the Godhead are the same then a decision taken has to be mutual. NO ONE can COMMAND the other. The moment one commands the other, THE HIERARCHY CHANGES. Jesus once said: “For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 …whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak” (John 12:49). It is said that Jesus obeyed God because he became God’s son. (Please take your seats and buckle up as you are about to go through a barrage of queries…)! In eternity past, what was ‘Jesus’ the God before he became the Son? (God the, what?) What was this God2’s identity? Why did he have to become God’s son to die on the cross? Couldn’t he, as God, himself do it, based on mutual consent than direct obedience? In eternity present, what is his relationship with God the HS? Why is he only subject to God the Father and not God the HS?? And in eternity future, how long will he remain as God the Son, and why?! Would that mean that he never was and will never be fully and only God, but always the Son?! How could you possibly differentiate between a God who is a spirit and a Spirit who is a God?!(Ha, haaaa..! Ok, Ok. You can inhale now)!!
Did you know that: EVEN HOLY SPIRIT THE GOD CANNOT DECIDE ANYTHING ON HIS OWN?!! John 14:16 – “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter”, and John 14:26 – “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you”, WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS NOT BECOME GOD’S SON, WHY SHOULD HE WAIT FOR GOD THE FATHER’S COMMAND TO MOVE?! In Romans 8:27&34 Paul writes: “And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God”. 34“Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.IN JOHN WE SEE JESUS THE GOD HAVING TO “PRAY” TO GOD THE FATHER TO SEND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT TO US!! AND IN ROMANS WE SEE GOD THE HS (along with JESUS THE GOD) INTERCEDING FOR US TO GOD THE FATHER ACCORDING TO THE WILL OF GOD THE FATHER!!
According to the Dictionary, to Intercede means intervene on behalf of another. To Intervene means, regarding matters of Law (as is the textual context), interpose in a lawsuit as a third party. To Interpose means intervene between parties… (That kind of completes the circle)! To put it in simple words: Intercede means to represent the pleading party before the judging party. NEVER EVER CAN A MEDIATOR BE A JUDGE OR A PARTY OF THE JUDGE. If you know how the system works (Why is there a Judge? Why should someone intercede before him for others? Why should someone approach the judge for justice and not the mediator?), you can understand the Protocol of the Trinity that the NT writers are actually trying to convey. NOW TRY AND UNDERSTAND WHY JESUS AND THE HS HAVE TO INTERCEDE FOR US BEFORE GOD THE FATHER WHEN THEY THEMSELVES ARE GODS?!!Representation is done by a Lawyer before the Judge. A Judge NEVER represents anyone before another Judge!! Can you digest that? (Atleast some part of it?)!! The hierarchy is clearly laid out!!SO, when it says that Jesus is sitting on the right hand of God mediating for us with the Father, it means that even the post-resurrected Jesus is NOT EQUAL TO the Father before whom he represents the sinful man!!!
The HS seems to be only a “silent partner” in the Godhead! A shy-guy who (almost exudes a feminist side), though being an Omniscient God himself, waits humbly to be told what next to be done! More surprisingly, he has to be told what exactly to speak (John 16:13) – “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak”)!!! GOD THE HS HAS TO BE TRAINED BY GOD THE FATHER!! I do not know why these things are never noticed…! There is not a single instance where we see Jesus or the Holy Spirit commanding God the Father! All the commands originate from the Father God. And he is not portrayed as if he is ever going to take one. Do I need to ask “Why”? Do I??
When complexity claims are made on the one side, on the other it is said that the term “Father and Son” is used so that the complex relationship between two persons in the Godhead can be properly conveyed to the silly humans (I do not know who is fooling whom, here)!! Because, if the husband-wife relation symbolizes the Christ-church relation, and the parent-child relationship symbolizes the God-man relation, HOW THEN CAN A FATHER-SON RELATION SYMBOLISE A GOD-GOD RELATION?…!! RIDICULOUS! It makes you feel that the HS should have atleast completed his Graduation in Literature before taking up such a great literary work!!
When we read 2Kings 2:12 and 2Kings 5:13, we see the word “father” being used there with a meaning similar to that of a “guru” or a “master”. With this cultural context, when we see Jesus constantly referring to God as his “father”, he was either sending out a clear message to his listeners or he was being totally senseless!!
It is claimed that Jesus the God and Jesus the man dwelt (mysteriously) together, throughout his stay on earth. On the one hand they say that GOD BECAME MAN, but on the other they say that HE WAS COMPLETE GOD and complete man. Both CANNOT be true, obviously! Well, if the 2nd claim is true then Jesus the man was the 4th entity that was attached to God2. And if the 1st claim is true then once God2 BECOMES man then God2 ceases to exist! Because when ice becomes water then there’s no more ice. When a child becomes an adult, then there’s no more a child (but that’s only when logic is not defied)!!
Keeping aside what I just said, I am ready to accept the logic-defying fact that Jesus was both, complete God and man at the same time, IF someone showed me Jesus the God in action (in words or deeds)! DON’T PICK UP THOSE STONES YET! Yes, I’ve read John 2:11 – “This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory”. But, when compared to the miracles done by Elijah, Elisha and the others (leprosy was healed, plenteous provisions were made from scarcity, dead were raised…), WHAT WAS SPECIAL IN JESUS’ MIRACLES THAT REVEALED A GREATER GLORY? HE JUST DID THE DONE! Those who point out to John 1:48 – “Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee”, to prove that Jesus is God, may not have read 2 Kings 5:26 – “And he (Elisha) said unto him (Gehazi), Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee?” Was Elisha God? NO!
If Jesus is God and it is said that we’ll be conformed into his image (Romans 8:29) and to his likeness (Romans 6:5), THEN WONT WE BE GODS, TOO? If he is the “firstborn” and we are his “brethren” then how can he be our God? “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:17). Paul here portrays Jesus an heir to God. If Jesus is our joint-heir then either we are also Gods or he is NOT one! HOW CAN MY BROTHER EVER BE MY FATHER??!!! Jesus said, “I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you” (John 14:20). Logically (please excuse me for taking you back to the world of logic every now and then), if A=B and B=C, then A=C. ie: IF GOD IS EQUAL TO JESUS AND JESUS IS EQUAL TO US THEN WE ARE EQUAL TO GOD! But that is if you don’t defy logic. Otherwise, it is: A=B & B=C, but A≠C! Paul writes in Colossians 2:9 – “For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily”. If Jesus was God (and Paul knew it) then the verse should simply have been: “For he was a complete God”, and NOTHING ELSE. Even otherwise, if Jesus is God because the fullness of the Godhead dwells in him then we are also Gods because we too have the fullness of God in us! Ephesians 3:19 – “that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God”.
Let me ask you: In the garden of Gethsemane, whose will was it that Jesus was referring to when he said “not my will” (Luke 22:42), the will of Jesus the complete man or Jesus the complete God? I know, I know… it has to be the will of Jesus the complete man! (What a silly question that was, right?)!! But then, what would have been the will of Jesus the God at that point? Before you say, “we can’t say” let me tell you, there can only be two possibilities: 1) Jesus the God and God the Father had the same will; 2) Jesus the God and Jesus the man had the same will… (That’s all for now your honor)!!
Nicodemus, who was part of the Sanhedrin and so was either a priest or an elder, and was knowledgeable in what the scriptures really taught (because he recognized Christ), had this to say about Jesus: John 3:2 –“Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him”. Nicodemus realized that Jesus came from God and that he could do all those miracles not because he was God, but because God was with him!! If Jesus was God, then, with the kind of knowledge Nicodemus had, what he said was absolute nonsense (Its like a geologist stating that the earth is flat)!! Yet Jesus did not correct Nicodemus.
WELL, WHY WOULD HE WHEN HE HIMSELF ACCEPTS THE FACT THAT WHATEVER HE DOES, HE DOES WITH THE HELP OF GOD! He says in Luke 4:18 – “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised”. Do you understand that?! Jesus had to be anointed by God to preach and had to be sent by him to heal, and that he needed the Spirit of the Lord upon him to carry out his responsibilities!!! Just before bringing his friend Lazarus back to life, Jesus prayed: “Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. 42 And I knew that thou hearest me always”. Jesus prayed to God “always” and God answered him always (note that the context is performance of a miracle) and this time Jesus let the people around him hear it because he wanted them to know that he did all those miracles, not because he WAS God but because he was SENT BY God!
Jesus NEVER said that he was God. In John 10:30 he says “I and my Father are one”. Even this statement does not make him THE ONLY true God (as in John 17:3)!!! For example: if I were to tell you that I and my father are one, what would you make out of it? What would you think I meant? Given below are a few verses that would make you understand it better: Genesis 2:24 – “and they shall be one flesh”. Genesis 34:16 – “and we will become one people”. Acts 4:32 – “And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul”. Exodus 24:3 – “and all the people answered with one voice”. Romans 15:6 –“That they may with one mind and one mouth glorify God”. If all this doesn’t light a bulb somewhere in your head…, then here’s the lightning bolt! :-
JESUS THE GOD IS SO VERY CLEARLY A NON-EXISTENT ENTITY that Jesus the Man needed the help of the Holy Spirit (the 3rd person in the Godhead) to be born into this world!! He needed the angels to guard him from danger and minister to him when weak. (Jesus the Omnipotent God did not as much as move his little finger)!!! He had to be led by the Spirit into the wilderness. He had to pray to God the Father for guidance. (Jesus the Omniscient God did not want to burn his “brain cells” to help Jesus the man)!!! He glorified God the Father through his life and did only what his Father told him to do! He performed his miracles with the help of God the Father. He commended his spirit to God the Father. (Jesus the Omnipresent God was “not reachable”)!!! He rose again with the power given to him by the Father. He had to request the Father to send the Holy Spirit to us. He is mediating for us with God the Father. And whats more… in the end he is going to give his kingdom to God the Father after defeating all his enemies and remain subject unto him forever (I Corinthians 15:28 – “And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all”)…!!! JESUS THE GOD BEING SUBJECT TO GOD THE FATHER FOR THE REST OF THE ETERNITY!!! What in the ‘world’ is he doing?? Is he taking a permanent retirement from Godship?!! How can an omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent God be subject to anyone? How can I be subject to myself??!! …CHECKMATE, my dear friend!! I don’t really have to discuss this any further, but, Oh! How I love to drive all those nails onto the coffin after ‘RIP’ing the ‘body’!!! So please, allow me to do it as smoothly as possible…!!!
